What is TOSlink?
TOSlink (Toshiba Link) is an optical fibre connection standard used to transmit digital audio signals. Developed by Toshiba in the 1980s, it connects devices like CD players and soundbars to receivers via light, reducing electrical interference. Commonly used for stereo audio and surround sound formats like Dolby Digital, TOSlink offers a reliable, high-quality connection. Though newer technologies like HDMI are replacing it, TOSlink remains popular for audio-only setups.
