What is a USB Charger?
USB chargers power devices like phones, tablets, and laptops, with varying outputs depending on the type and device. USB-A is the traditional connector, typically used for lower-powered devices, while USB-C is the newer, reversible connector that supports faster charging and data transfer.
Charging standards differ as well. Standard charging usually delivers 5V at 1-2A, which works for smaller devices like phones. Fast charging technologies such as Qualcomm Quick Charge and USB Power Delivery (PD) allow for higher voltages (9V, 12V, 20V), enabling faster charging for tablets and phones. USB PD can deliver up to 100W, making it ideal for power-hungry devices like laptops.
When choosing a charger, make sure it meets the power needs of your device. USB-C is becoming the standard for faster, more efficient charging across phones, tablets, and laptops.
