What is RCA?
RCA connectors are a type of electrical connector commonly used for transmitting analog audio and video signals. Typically, they feature colour-coded plugs—yellow for composite video, red for right-channel audio, and white or black for left-channel audio. RCA connectors were widely used in home entertainment systems, such as for connecting DVD players, VCRs, game consoles, and older TVs. Despite the rise of digital connections like HDMI, RCA remains in use for some legacy devices and audio equipment. They are simple, reliable, and affordable, though they are limited to standard-definition video and stereo audio, making them less suitable for modern high-definition systems.
